Say hello.

No. You get fitter by training, not the other way around. Every class starts with a warm-up and you set your own pace.

Any adult class. They are all levels, and most beginners start at 5:30 PM after work. If mornings suit you better, come at 6 AM on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Ícaro will look after you either way.

Comfortable sports clothes without zips or pockets, like a t-shirt or rashguard with shorts or leggings. If you are trying a Gi class, we can lend you a gi.

Gi classes use the traditional jiu-jitsu uniform, which you can grip to control your partner. No-Gi is trained in a rashguard and shorts, so it is a little faster and closer to wrestling. Most students enjoy both.

Kids 5 to 8 train on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 4:00 to 4:45 PM. Teens 9 to 14 train on the same days from 4:45 to 5:30 PM. If your child sits on the line, send us a message and we will help you choose.

Saturday from 8:00 to 9:00 AM. Open training time to roll and drill what you learnt during the week.

Classes are supervised and technique always comes first. You can tap at any moment to stop, and nobody spars on their first day.

Neither. Memberships are weekly with no lock-in, and we only ask for four weeks notice when you want to cancel.

There is free parking at the academy. We are in shed 9 at 46 Bailey Crescent, Southport.
